Chicago’s WCIU-TV You & Me This Morning Show’s

One of my favorite experiences to date was being featured on Chicago’s WCIU-TV You & Me This Morning Show “Made in Chicago” Segment in April of 2012. The segment is featured weekly and covers some of the brightest entrepreneurs and best products made in Chicago. It was the first time I opened my studio workspace to the scope of the public eye. I usually work with my feathers in a quiet retreat listening with my favorite music. The segment producer Dartise Johnson called, and I was delighted to make time for the opportunity.

On the day of the taping, I arrived at my illustrious friend Celebrity Make Up Artist Niehla O’s studio bright and early for a professional look and then headed over to my studio to meet the segment producer. I was extremely nervous, however; he me feel at home in front of the camera. He asked questions about the history of SoundChick and my background, which was easy for me to answer naturally. I also was asked to exhibit my art form in which I made a pair of Peacock feather earrings, and I even plucked a few feathers for the camera.

The producer took a few more shots of products, and before I knew it the interview was over! The next day I arrived early morning to set up a small display of SoundChick products at WCIU-TV Studio. The You and Me Morning Show Hosts Jean Sparrow & Melissa Morgan had fun reviewing the products live before the broadcast of the segment we filmed. This is where I saw the final edited and produced Made In Chicago segment featuring SoundChick Live on Television on WCIU-TV, in which made me tremendously proud. A divine opportunity to share with the world my story as an artist and of my business, I am forever grateful for the experience. See Video Above.
